A Harmonious Note: AS Music School joins Sheffield Safe Places!
We’re thrilled to announce that AS Music School is now a registered member of Sheffield Safe Places!
What is Sheffield Safe Places:
Sheffield Safe Places is an organisation that aims to support adults who feel vulnerable while out in the city. They achieve this by establishing a network of registered ‘Safe Places’, which are a range of different everyday businesses and organisations throughout the city, such as cafes, libraries, and, now, AS Music School. If an individual needs help while out in the city, they can enter a Safe Place and receive whatever support they need.
Whether you’re lost, feeling unsafe, experiencing a medical issue, or just need to sit and breathe for a moment, you can identify a Safe Place near you using the website or the App (which you can download on the App Store or Google Play). You can also recognise a Safe Place by the Sheffield Safe Places sticker (see below) in their front window. Once inside a Safe Place, the staff will offer you a quiet place to sit and collect yourself, a listening ear, and can help connect you with additional resources or organisations to provide further assistance if necessary.
Sheffield Safe Places and AS Music School:
At AS Music School, we’re passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our students. We believe that music education fosters a sense of community and belonging. Becoming a Safe Place allows us to extend that commitment beyond our music lessons. Our school will now be a designated space where anyone can come in and seek support, reassurance, or simply a friendly face. By becoming a Sheffield Safe Place, we hope to play a positive role in creating a safer and more supportive environment for everyone in Sheffield.
