Drum lessons for every age
Mini-lessons (ages 6 to 8)
15-minute one-to-one lessons designed for younger drummers. We have kits set up for smaller players and our tutors are brilliant at making the early stages fun and rewarding.
One-to-one lessons (ages 8 to adult)
Weekly 30-minute one-to-one drum lessons covering technique, reading, groove, and the styles you actually want to play — rock, pop, funk, jazz, metal, hip-hop. Adult drummers very welcome.
From your first beat to playing in a band
Drumming is meant to be played with other people. Once you have a few months of lessons under your belt, our [Play-In-A-Band classes] (ages 8 to 19) let you join a band with other AS Music School students. There’s no faster way to grow as a drummer — and the gigs and showcases through the year give you a real reason to practice.
Drum exams
For students who want to track their progress formally, we enter drummers for RSL (Rockschool) exams — and as a recognised exam centre for RSL, our students sit their grades on site rather than travelling. Higher grades carry UCAS points usable for any university application. Exams are entirely optional though — many of our drummers never take one.
