AS Music School is Woodseats’ independent music school — based on Cobnar Road, S8 8QB, just off Chesterfield Road. We teach piano, guitar, drums, vocals, ukulele, violin, songwriting and more, to students of every age, from three-year-olds in our early learning groups to adult beginners and serious exam-track teenagers. Whatever you want to play, we’d love to help you get started.

Lessons for every age
From age three to ninety-three, we have a lesson format that works:
- Ages 3 to 6: Early Learning Music Classes — 30-minute group sessions with a free starter pack.
- Ages 6 to 8: 15-minute one-to-one mini-lessons.
- Ages 8 to adult: 30-minute one-to-one lessons, plus the option to join a band.
- Adults: One-to-one lessons plus group options like our Ukulele Group, Folk Group and Rock & Blues Group.
Where Woodseats families come from
Our students travel in from across S8 and the surrounding postcodes — Woodseats, Meersbrook, Heeley, Norton, Beauchief, Greenhill, Bradway, Norton Lees, Lowedges, Jordanthorpe, plus Nether Edge and Sharrow in S7/S11 and Dore, Totley and Bradway in S17. We’re an easy walk from Woodseats Library, the shops on Chesterfield Road, and Graves Park.

Every new student is offered a free first lesson so you can meet your tutor, see the studios, and decide whether AS Music School feels right for you — before committing to anything. Lesson slots are limited and fill up quickly, so the sooner you get in touch the better.
